Touch of Embers

Hopefully, one day!

While I wrote this bookI wrote this book to entertain and spark joy, some topics might trigger some readers. Depictions of magical battles and violence are for entertainment purposes only, and I don't consider descriptions of combat or ensuing wounds particularly graphic. However, I have listed some content warnings below to help individuals decide on their ideal reading experience.

  • Abduction. This experience only lasts a few pages before the main character is rescued. There is no additional pain or suffering for the main character throughout this incident.
  • Child in danger. A small child is a part of this story. As the god-daughter of the main character, this child is sometimes in place of scary and life-threatening situations. These situations are mentioned sparingly in a few sentences, and no harm comes to this child. This child is a part of a loving and protective family who look to keep her safe.
  • Violence. The main subject of this story has to do with a magical war. As such, there are times when individuals get injured. As stated above, I do not write graphic descriptions of wounds. Still, I understand that individual readers' idea of what constitutes 'graphic' is personal to them. When reading, proceed with caution.
  • Sexual content. This book contains fliting, innuendoes, intimate contact, and consensual sex between adult characters. If a reader is uninterested in sensual topics, this might not be the book for them.

Content is not suitable for readers under 18 years of age.

I hope this information helps you decide your reading journey.

Happy reading.

To all my lovely readers, some of you may have noticed that I announced this book as a re-release. Why, you ask? Because I made a mistake and I needed to fix it. In the original publication of this book, I referenced the Romani people using a term I now know is a slur. While I did not write these words with malicious intent —rather, I did so in ignorance— I am not the type of person or author who can continue to print and share these harmful words with the world.

I appreciate all the Romani content creators who have shared parts of their culture, history, and world views with those looking to learn more about the Romani people. Their work helped me recognize the mistake I made and helped me try to rectify it. Considering these important messages, I decided to remove the reference to Romani people from this book. Not because their story doesn't deserve to be heard —it most certainly does!—but because I'm not the right person to share it.

I got into writing to introduce more diverse stories based on my experience as a mixed woman who grew up in a culturally diverse area. This has always been my goal, and I never intended to share hateful words. I could say more on the matter, and I've gone through many renditions of this apology. Honestly, though, I think actions speak louder than words, and I hope this rewrite will create a more inclusive reading experience for all who find themselves drawn to the world I've created here.
